Obedience classes are going well, and Riley's finally starting to learn not to pull on the leash. She was getting better at "come", but I think some wires came loose in her head last week, because suddenly she's forgetting things, destroying things, and not listening. I'm told this phase should only last a few months....I just hope we can survive it!

Riley had a lot of fun visiting everyone at Christmas. She got so excited that she'd wimper and even shake when certain people were nearby or petting her.

It's amazing to look back and see how Riley has changed. At some point she lost her puppy look, and though she's still small, she looks like a little adult. She's taken to defluffing all of her plush toys (which were her favourites) and loves to chase the laser pointer outside in the dark. We're still waiting for the first "real" snow (ie snow on the ground to play in)...hopefully this weekend.

She loves to hide under the table when she thinks I'll put her in her crate - but always has to peek out to make sure I'm not doing something fun.

Riley had her 6 month birthday on Friday and it's hard to believe how much she's grown. She loves to shred tennis balls and sticks and likes to hop around in the yard with her rope. She also loves running circles around the shed and using Kelly as a hurdle!

We graduated from puppy school!!! Riley did pretty well, though it took her a couple tries for some of the commands. She hated the graduation cap, but it was so cute, I couldn't resist!

I finally got some pictures of Riley & Kelly playing together. Riley really isn't as blond as she looks in the pictures (in fact, she's starting to get redder).

My cute little puppy is growing up :-( Her tail has started to feather, her adult fur is coming in, and she's lost almost all of her baby teeth (practically all at once!). There are two weeks left of puppy school, and her sits, downs and "leave it"s have improved, but I'm not sure she's learned much else (we've also worked on settle, stay, wait, take it, give and loose leash walking). I, on the other hand, have learned a lot. At least one of us was paying attention! She loves to play with Kelly, and patrols the fence each time we go out to see if she's around to play.

This is the same table she's lying on in a previous picture. As you can tell, she barely fits
(in fact she often has to adjust her position a few times to keep her back end from sliding off!).

We went to the wiggle waggle walkathon today and had lots of fun making friends with all the dogs and people. Thanks to Erin & Al for the pictures (Kelly is the black lab - Riley's best friend).

Riley's growing like the weeds that she eats. She likes to chase and chew frisbees and has fun at puppy class and playing with Kelly, the new puppy next door.

Riley's growing bigger every day and is getting better at 'sit' and coming when called and is just starting to learn 'down'.
